System Requirements: G-W Online Textbook Platform

The following are the minimum system requirements required to utilize the G-W Online Textbook platform.

 

Access: An Internet connection is required. Broadband cable, high-speed DSL, fiber-optic, or another equivalent is recommended.

 

Operating System:

  • Windows: Windows 10
  • Macintosh: macOS 12.2 or higher
  • Chromebook: ChromeOS 103 or higher

Screen Resolution: Screen resolution of 1024 x 768 or higher is recommended for best experience.


Supported Browsers:

  • For all browsers:
    • Most current version update of all browsers is highly recommended.
    • Cookies and JavaScript must be enabled for full site functionality.
    • Allow pop-up windows for all G-W websites.

Mobile:

  • Apple: iOS® 13 or later
  • Android: 10 or later

Recommended Programs:

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader (free download) is needed for viewing PDF downloads.
  • Microsoft Office 2016 or greater OR equivalent document processing software maybe needed to edit Instructor Resources (i.e. Lesson plans and PowerPoint Presentations)

Enable 3rd Party Cookies

  • Use a recommended web browser, listed in order of best experience:
    • Google Chrome
    • Mozilla Firefox
    • Microsoft Edge
  • Clear your browser's cookies and cache. For help with that, refer to our support article on clearing cookies: https://support.g-w.com/kb/section/10/
  • Confirm that 3rd-party cookies are allowed:
    • Chrome - Settings > Security and Privacy > Cookies and other site data > Set to Allow all cookies or Block third-party cookies in Incognito
    • Firefox - Settings > Privacy & Security > Set Browser Privacy to Standard
    • Edge - Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Cookies and site permissions
      • Allow sites to save and read cookie data > On
      • Block third-party cookies > Off

Troubleshooting

Whether you are a student or an instructor using a Learning Management System (LMS) such as Blackboard, Canvas, Schoology, etc. or G-W Online Textbooks, many content access issues can be resolved easily by one or a combination of the following steps:

  • Restart or reboot the device.
  • Try accessing the content on a different device.
  • Try accessing the content on a different browser.

Browser settings: Test your browser settings.
